Assistant Professor

Detailed Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Jibran Khan Yousafzai received the B.S. degree in computer system engineering from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan in 2004, the M.Sc. degree in digital signal processing and Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering in 2006 and 2010, respectively, from King's College London, UK. During his Ph.D. research, he worked on a project funded by the UK's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) on resolution of the robustness issues of automatic speech recognition systems. During his M.Sc. research, he investigated methods for the reconstruction of perceptual soundfields for a spatially extended surround sound technology. His research interests are in the broad area of signal processing, ranging from theoretical aspects of signal analysis to applications in automatic speech recognition, machine learning and digital audio processing for surround sound technology. He has also published papers in the field of Engineering Education. Since 2011, he has been serving as an Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering at the American University of Kuwait (AUK). He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) and the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP). He is a reviewer for various conferences and journals.
