Seyed Ebrahim Esmaeili received the B.Sc. (with honors) and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University, Kuwait, in 2001 and 2005, respectively, and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering form Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 2011. He is the recipient of Concordia University Graduate Fellowship Award (Ph.D. 2009). During his M.Sc. degree, he worked full-time as an assistant director in the Office of Academic Assessment at the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Kuwait University. He worked as a post-doc research associate at Concordia University before joining the American University of Kuwait in 2013.

Dr. Seyed served as the chair of the Innovative Robot Competition at the Second National Robotic Challenge in Kuwait. He also served as a member in the judging committee for several local competitions including the First GCC Robotic Challenge, the IET Present Around the World Competition, and the Smart Kuwait Competition. Capstone projects supervised by Dr. Seyed won a number of awards in the Undergraduate Research Conference on Applied Computing (URC), Smart Kuwait Competition, and the First Maker Faire Kuwait. Dr. Seyed holds two US and European patents and is also the co-inventor of a US patent. Both inventions won silver medals at the First Maker Faire in Kuwait. He is currently a reviewer for several international conferences and journals including IEEE transactions. His main research focuses on high-speed low-power digital circuit design, clock distribution networks, resonant clocking techniques, and robotics.
