INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS - DARTMOUTH-AUK STUDENT EXCHANGE (NON-CREDIT)
 
 
 
 

Eligibility & Selection Process:

Students at the American University of Kuwait must meet the below minimum eligibility requirements for all programs, and for those which are program specific as applicable:

ALL PROGRAMS:

  • Enrolled AUK UG Student during previous Fall & Spring (min. 6 credit hours), & enrolled in that Summer or following Fall 2017.
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.75 at time of application and participation (having completed a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of previous Spring term) - see program specific details.
  • Students on disciplinary probation, and under the age of 18 as of the start date are not eligible.

INTERNSHIP at the OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS:

  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.75 at time of application and participation (having completed a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of previous Spring term) – see program specific details.
  • A proven interest in art, design, communications and media (related experience preferred); graphic design a plus.
  • Strong English writing, ability to work in a team, proficiency in research, and ability to work independently.

INTERNSHIP at the TUCK SCHOOL OF BUSINESS (TUCKGO OFFICE):

  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.00 at time of application and participation (having completed a minimum of 80 credit hours by the end of previous Spring term) – see program specific details.
  • Interns should have an interest in global business education and higher education administration more broadly
  • College of Business & Economics students - preferred

Selection Process:

Review of the overall selection process and application requirements will generally proceed as below. Selection Process Timeframe for Summer 2018 (internship dates) per the following:  

Applications Available: Early November November 7
Application Deadline: Mid-December December 4
Applications Reviewed: Mid-December December 5-13
Interviews Conducted: Mid-December December 14-20
Selected Interns Announced: Early January January 9

All Applications require in addition to the application form the following materials:

  • cover letter for the application
  • student’s current resume/cv.
  • a copy of the student's Spring class schedule.
  • a copy of the student’s academic performance (self-service academic transcript) at AUK.
  • student’s response to the application questions.
  • and a letter of recommendation from an AUK faculty member (optional).

It is strongly recommended that students who have not developed a cover letter, resume/cv, or participated in a professional interview seek assistance from the Career Services support staff at AUK.
