Ajay Kumar Sabharwal
GMAT Instructor

Mr. Ajay Kumar Sabharwal has a Master of Commerce degree from Delhi University, and extensive teaching experience in Kuwait, having taught in Kuwait at the Gulf University for Science and Technology, and the British Council, where he was visiting faculty for the Certificate of Insurance Practice (CIP) and the Association of Charted Certified Accountants (ACCA).
He currently teaches a range of IGCSE and AS-level subjects for AUK's Center for Continuing Education, including Mathematics, Accounting and Economics.

David Cox
General English Instructor

Mr. David Cox has a range of English language teaching experience, having worked in Worcestershire, UK and in Kuwait, teaching English to both children and adults. Mr. Cox has a BA Honors degree in English Literature and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. In his free time, he is interested in running, writing poetry and freelance travel writings, as well as running his own non-profit organization.

Faten Osseili
General English Instructor

Ms. Faten Osseili holds a Master's degree in Bilingual Bicultural Education from Wayne State University, Michigan, and is a certified instructor in English as a Second Language. She has worked with all ages and levels of learner; as an English Language instructor teaching adult ESL learners in Dearborn, MI; with disadvantaged children from grades one through eight, and with pre-school children during her time as a Graduate Research Assistant. Ms. Faten has been heavily involved with curriculum development in all her previous positions, designing language programs, course material, assessments, lesson plans and teaching strategies for her students.

George Apostolou
General English Instructor

Mr. George Apostolou has thirty years of extensive teaching experience, and has taught English, History, Special Education and Physical Education in countries as far afield as Canada, Saudi Arabia, Japan and Kuwait. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Education, as well as a BA and a BA (Hons) in History from Toronto, Canada. Mr. George also holds additional qualifications as a Diver Master, Fitness Trainer, Dog Trainer and the National Coaching Certificate. Aside from his professional life, Mr. George operates a home-run animal rescue center.

Kashif Chauhan
Cambridge International Diploma in Business Instructor

Mr. Chauhan has extensive experience in business development, including the planning and delivery of marketing strategies for UK qualifications and assessments in South Asia and in the Middle East. With an in-depth background in the field of education, hospitality management and English language teaching, he has led the examination business for the British Council at a local and regional level for over a decade at various locations in the network, and has managed the performance of large teams with diverse backgrounds across the region.
He currently Heads the British Council digital program for the UK qualifications at a global level and also delivers business and leadership courses on a part-time basis at the Center for Continuing Education .

Manal H. Al-Hasawi

Ms. Manal Al-Hasawi has an extensive background in the field of business, with significant experience in Change Management, Internal Audit, Strategic Marketing, Internal Process Control, Quality Management and Financial Modeling and Estimation. She earned her Master's degree in Business Administration from Wright State University, and then worked as a Business Process & Solutions Analyst before returning to Kuwait in 2010. Ms. Manal is also the founder and former president of the Intercultural Exchange Organization, an international representative of the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars, and the co-founder and president of the MBA Association of Wright State University.

Mark D. Juszczak
GMAT Instructor

• Ph.D. in Knowledge Management from Teachers College at Columbia University

Earning his Ph.D. in Knowledge Management from Teachers College at Columbia University, Dr. Mark is based in New York City and has been travelling frequently to Kuwait since 2003. He is the pioneer of the "fluency-based" approach to GMAT preparation; preparation designed with "your" background and skills in mind. This unique technique used when teaching both GMAT and GRE preparation courses has received over 95% satisfaction rate in his past 20 courses.

Michael D. Lombardi

Mr. Michael Lombardi is an experienced English language teaching professional who has worked with a wide range of students, both civilian and military, in Abu Dhabi, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Thailand, prior to his current position in Kuwait. He specializes in teaching General English, English for Specific Purposes and exam preparation for IELTS candidates. In addition to his Bachelor's degree in Communications from New Jersey State University, he is also qualified in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults). His other interests include sports, drama, music, travel, reading and learning about other cultures.

Nidal Zakaria

Mr. Nedal Zakaria Al-Hasan is a professionally qualified trainer, EFL teacher-trainer, translator and interpreter with more than fourteen years' experience in teaching English and translating English/Arabic and Arabic/English. He also works as a freelance interpreter in conferences and events organized for UN commissions and other international organizations in Kuwait and the region. He has a Master's degree in Translation and is currently working on a Master's degree in International Education from Framingham State College.

Patricia Varas
Spanish Instructor

Ms. Patricia Varas de Babul has an extensive and diverse background in fields as varied as business, diplomacy and language, having worked most recently as a Senior Marketing Manager, with previous positions in Kuwait Petroleum Company, the National Petroleum Services Co., and the Embassy of the Republic of Venezuela. She has also worked as a translator for Spanish/English and English/Spanish for four translating companies in Kuwait, Lebanon and Jordan.
As a private tutor and a part-time instructor, Ms. Patricia currently teaches Survival Spanish for the Center of Continuing Education.

Persis Loomis

Ms. Persis Loomis earned her Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Anglo American University in Prague. She has enjoyed a diverse career, having worked as a Project Coordinator for Special Events at the Embassy of Belgium in Prague, as an International Program Coordinator at the Anglo-American University in Prague, and as an English language instructor both in Prague and Kuwait. Ms. Persis is currently an instructor for AUK's Intensive English Program, and also teaches English on a part-time basis at the Center for Continuing Education.

Sally Shelford

Ms. Sally Shelford has a BA (Hons) degree in History from the University of Southampton, and the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from the British Council in Kuwait. She has had extensive experience teaching English language and IELTS exam preparation courses, and has been an IELTS Speaking examiner at the British Council, where she was also involved in setting up placement tests for students.

Dr. Stacey Al-Ghawas has over 23 years of executive experience working with a wide variety of Kuwaiti companies. With Industry Experience that spans Real Estate, Restaurant and Entertainment Development, Beauty Salons & Spas, Medical & Scientific Equipment Sales, Telecommunications, Marketing, Customer Retention & Customer Service & Call Center Management, she is credible trainer who is able to deliver training that is dynamic and relevant.
Dr. Stacey is a US Certified Dale Carnegie Trainer with experience in Train the Trainer Core Class, The Dale Carnegie Course, Leadership Training for Managers, High Impact Presentations, Customer Service, and Project Leadership Mastery among others. In addition, she is also a UK Certified Call Center Manager.

Steve Macaulay
IELTS and General English Instructor

After graduating from Manchester, Steven left the UK to take up a position teaching business people in Paris, France. In 1993 he moved to Vienna, Austria where he took up the position of Assistant Director of Studies at the Business Language Center. Whilst in Vienna he began his study of negotiating techniques, completing courses with the Harvard Project on Negotiation and Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. His Negotiating for Professionals program became very successful and was delivered to major banks, oil companies and other multinationals throughout Central and Eastern Europe. He later became sought after as a trainer for Presentation skills and has coached bank presidents, diplomats and sportsmen. In 2005, he took over as head of corporate training in English for the European Management Centre in Sofia, Bulgaria. He delivered seminars throughout Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Serbia. Whilst based in Bulgaria, he became involved with IELTS training and has coached hundreds of students over the last 7 years.
