Faculty Positions - College of Engineering & Applied Sciences

Application Instructions:

Application packages are to be submitted  electronically to CEASfaculty@auk.edu.kw (attachments must not exceed 10 MB per email). The package should contain the following:

  1. Cover letter detailing the candidate’s specific interest in AUK, and how the candidate’s past experiences provide a suitable basis for performance in the position for which they are applying.
  2. A current CV.
  3. Statements on teaching goals and philosophy, research, and service.
  4. Copies of teaching evaluations if available.
  5. Names and addresses, both electronic and postal, of three referees.
  6. Two recent publications or two writing samples.

Electrical Engineering (Position Code No. 22-901 – AUKWEB 10): Rank assistant professor or higher; Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a closely related field is required; specifically, in energy systems, power systems, power electronics, instrumentation, and measurement systems. Industrial experience is a plus. The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate courses. A commitment to enhancing undergraduate research opportunities for students is desirable. Faculty duties include teaching, research, student advising, and service to the Department, College, and University. Knowledge of ABET program accreditation and curriculum development as well as assessment is highly desirable.


Systems Engineering (Position Code No. 22-902 – AUKWEB 10): Rank assistant professor or higher; Ph.D. in Systems Engineering or a closely related field is required; specifically, in systems simulation, operations research, engineering design, engineering project management, production, operation, and quality control. Industrial experience is a plus. The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate courses. A commitment to enhancing undergraduate research opportunities for students is desirable. Faculty duties include teaching, research, student advising, and service to the Department, College, and University. Knowledge of ABET program accreditation and curriculum development as well as assessment is highly desirable.

Computer Science (Position Code No. 22-801 – AUKWEB 10):  Rank assistant professor or higher; Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related field is required. Applications from recent graduates in the CS field are strongly encouraged. The successful candidate will teach a range of courses, such as: Computer Ethics, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, Distributed and Parallel Computing, and Analysis of Algorithms. A commitment to enhancing undergraduate research opportunities for students is desirable. Faculty duties include teaching, research, student advising, and service to the department, college, and university. Knowledge of ABET program accreditation and curriculum development as well as assessment is highly desirable.


Information Systems (Position Code No. 22-802 – AUKWEB 10):  Rank assistant professor or higher; Ph.D. in information systems is required. Applications from recent graduates in the IS field are strongly encouraged. The successful candidate will teach a range of courses, such as Systems Analysis and Design, Software Project Management, IT Infrastructure, and Business Process Management. A commitment to enhancing undergraduate research opportunities for students is desirable. Faculty duties include teaching, research, student advising, and service to the Department, College and University. Knowledge of ABET program accreditation and curriculum development as well as assessment is highly desirable.
