At the end of each term, students are tested to determine to which level they should be promoted. This final test battery consists of the following:

1. Classroom final examinations.
2. Portfolio
3. Presentations
4. Another version of Accuplacer ESL Placement Test, an objective, multiple-choice examination that tests grammar, reading and listening comprehension, and sentence building.
5. A writing sample based on another assigned topic.

These factors, plus others (e.g., class participation/attendance, lab, reading groups, course work during the semester, and a grade of ‘C’ or above in the course), go into the final promotion decisions.
