MEET THE TEAM

The Division is responsible for assisting students in adjusting to university life, developing a sense of belonging and community, and promoting student success through support programs and services. Division team members also represent student interests to relevant administrative units. The Division of Student Affairs seeks to coordinate the needs of the student with the available resources thus ensuring a positive and enriching learning experience.

The Division of Student Affairs is comprised of a number of departments which support student development from admission through graduation. Student Affairs is comprised of the following departments:

Dr. Carol Ross – Dean of Student Affairs	crblack@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-005)
Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration, Florida State University. M.Ed, Boston University. B.A. in Business and Administration, University of Maryland. Dr. Ross has worked for over 20 years in a variety of college settings with 15 of those years serving as chief student affairs officer. My motto: “College should be one of the most positively unforgettable experiences of one’s life and students are the reason I am here.”

Tadd Kruse – Assistant Dean of Student Affairs	tkruse@auk.edu.kw (Office: A-211)
M.Ed. in Educational Administration, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. B.A. in Psychology and Sociology, Walsh University. Tadd has approximately 10 years experience working in university student support services; and worked at universities in both the United States and the United Kingdom before coming to AUK.

Lamees Hettini – Executive Admin. Coordinator – Student Affairs	lhettini@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-006)
HDip. Kindergarten & Childhood Studies. PDip. in Education, Faculty of Education, Damascus University. B.A. in Philosophy & Psychology, Beirut Arab University. Dip. Medical Secretary, Kuwait Business Institute. Lamees worked for over 15 years in the United Nations in Syria as well as previously working in Kuwait. Lamees also served as a training consultant in executive secretarial skills, office management, public relations and childhood studies.

M.B.A. Universityof Phoenix, Chicago, IL. B.B.A. Business Management, Robert Morris College. Maher has over 9 years of Admissions and Enrollment Management experience at various institutions in the United States and the Middle East.

Eman Kamel – Assistant Director of Admissions	ekamel@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-009)
B.S. in Computer Science, American University in Cairo. Has over 6 years of experience in various leadership positions and consultancies in IT and Market Research in Cairo and Kuwait.

Dana Al-Mansour – Senior Admissions Counselor	dmansour@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-008A)
M.B.A., Kuwait University. B.S. in Computer Science, Kuwait University. Started her career as an IT instructor then as a system administrator before deciding to move into higher education as an admissions counselor at AUK.

Dana Abu Naameh - Admissions Counselor	dabunaameh@auk.edu.kw (Office: Admissions Admin.)
B.B.A. Business Administration, Mount Saint Vincent University, Canada. Dana has over 7 years of customer service, office management, and teaching experience in Canada before coming to AUK.

Louay Y. Rashid – Admissions Counselor	lrashid@auk.edu.kw (Office: Admissions Admin.)
B.A. in Accounting, Baharathiar University. Has over 6 years of experience in various positions involving customer service and accounting. Loay has been a member of the AUK admissions Team since June 2009.

Reema A. Al-Jabi – '10 Admissions Counselor/Scholarship Programs	raljabi@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-007)
B.B.A. in Management, American University of Kuwait. As AUK Alumni, Reema was a active member in the Marketing Club from 2006 to 2007. Reema has over 4 years of experience with AUK as a student worker and full-time employee.

Amal Jaber – Senior Admissions Coordinator	ajaber@auk.edu.kw (Office: Admissions Admin.)
Dip. Executive Business, Pittman Center. Amal has over 22 years of public relations experience in banking, telecommunications and education sector. Amal joined AUK in January 2007 and has held positions in both Academic Affairs and Admissions.

Ahmed Lotfy – '09 Admissions Counselor	alotfy@auk.edu.kw (Office: Admissions Admin.)
B.S in Computer Science, American University of Kuwait. Ahmed has over 3 years of experience in web design before joining the Admissions team. He is an Alumni and was involved in several programs at AUK including the AUK Soccer Team, Science Fairs, and served as a student worker.

Ghadah S. Al Salous – Administrative Assistant	galsalous@auk.edu.kw (Office: Admissions Admin.)
B.B.A. Finance, Saint Mary’s University, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ghadah has been involved in different societies at Saint Mary’s University including the Commerce Society, the Arabic Society, and the Islamic Society, as well as charities. She also completed her internship at the Australian College of Kuwait in the Human Resources Department

Jill H. Allgier - Registrar	jallgier@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-Bldg: Reg. Office)
MA in Student Personnel in Higher Education, Eastern Kentucky University. B.B.A. in Business Administration, Indiana University. Jill has over thirty-five years experience in higher education with thirty of that combined from the Office of the Registrar at Indiana University and Eastern Kentucky University. She retired from EKU following sixteen years as University Registrar.

Hana Mathews – Assistant Registrar	hmathews@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-Bldg: Reg. Office)
B.A. in Political Science, specializing in Political Economy, American University of Cairo. Hana has been at AUK since 2004, as an Admissions Counselor then joined the Office of the Registrar when it was established later that same year.

Noushig Momdjian – Scholarship Coordinator	nmomdjian@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-Bldg: Reg. Office)
B.A in English Language and Literature, Arab Open University, Kuwait (in progress). Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) Diploma, New Horizon Training Center, Kuwait. Noushig has been at AUK since 2003, she was the Information Systems Coordinator in the HR department before she joined the Office of the Registrar in 2007.

Graduated with BBA in Finance and Management from the American University of Kuwait. Joined the Office of the Registrar in 2009.

Graduated with a BBA in Marketing from the American University of Kuwait. She has been working with the Office of the Registrar since 2008.

M.S. in Counseling, Loyola University New Orleans. B.A. in Psychology, Venezuela. Licensed Professional Counselor and, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. For the past 9 years Joanne has been part of Student Affairs in the United States and Kuwait assisting students with their academic needs.

Basema Da’na – Assistant Director	bdana@auk.edu.kw (Office: B-507)
M.A. in Learning Disabilities, Columbia University, New York. B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication, specializing in Public Relations & Advertising, minor in Psychology, The American University in Cairo. Basema has been working in the learning disabilities field for the past 9 years assisting students adapting to new academic challenges.

Hala Al-Abdulrazzaq – Academic Advisor	halabdulrazzaq@auk.edu.kw (Office: B-510)
B.A. in Psychology, The George Washington University. Hala comes to AUK with higher education experience from the Australian College of Kuwait; where she worked closely with students offering academic support and general guidance.

Sally Khalifa – Retention Coordinator	skhalifa@auk.edu.kw (Office: B-508)
MPPA in Public Policy & Administration, B.A. in Journalism & Mass communication, Specialization in Broadcasting Journalism, minor in philosophy, The American University in Cairo. Sally comes to AUK with Higher education experience from the American University in Cairo, where she worked with students offering academic services, advising and transfer credit guidance.

Shoug Al-Othman – '09 Academic Advisor - Government Scholarship Program	salothman@auk.edu.kw (Office: B-509)
B.B.A in Finance and Marketing with a minor in Economics, American University of Kuwait. Shoug has 2 years experience as a Peer Academic Leader at AUK and earned several awards including the Leadership Award, making the Dean’s list, and being a finalist for the President’s Award.

Shaimaa El Sherbine – Academic Support Specialist	smohamed@auk.edu.kw (Office: A-008)
MPPA in Public Policy and Administration, The American University in Cairo. B.A. Journalism and Mass Communication, a double minor in Philosophy and Business Administration. Shaimaa comes to AUK with higher education experience from the American University in Cairo, where she has been working in the Leadership and youth development for the past three years.

M.A. in Counseling, RTS Orlando. B.A. in Political Science, concentration in International Relations, UCLA. Amy has worked with college students for the past six years, providing career services, counseling and peer mentoring to students in the USA, China, and France.

Jason Sullivan - Counselor	jsullivan@auk.edu.kw (Office: B-504)
M.A. in Counseling, RTS Orlando. B.A. in Philosophy and Religious Studies, University of Tennessee. Jason comes to AUK with over ten years experience in the counseling field working with students, adults, and families. As a therapist, he has worked with individuals on a variety of personal issues and has experience working in clinics, private practice, and residential treatment centers.

M.S. in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education and a B.A. majoring in History and minoring in Political Science, both from Texas A&M University. Damian has worked alongside and empowering students in a university setting for over 6 years in areas including student clubs and organizations, risk management, program development, advising, and leadership to name a few.

Laveena Lobo – Senior Coordinator of Campus Life	llobo@auk.edu.kw (Office: A-004)
M.S. in Human Development and a B.A. in Psychology, both from Bombay University. Laveena has worked as a Researcher, a lecturer in Psychology and a Training Coordinator prior to coming to AUK.

Ayman Shouman – Student Engagement Officer	ashouman@auk.edu.kw (Office: A-004)
B.A. in Social Work from the High Institute of Social Work in Egypt. Ayman has worked for nearly a decade in a multicultural American model of education to develop and implement social policy, support students’ personal growth, and access community resources and develop support networks.

Trevor N. Taylor – Sports Coordinator	ttaylor@auk.edu.kw (Office: A-004)
M.S. in Sports Administration, Eastern Kentucky University. B.S. in International Image Creation, American University of Sharjah. Trevor, aside from participating as a student-athlete, has previous experience in organizing various components of major sporting events and has worked to promote and prepare others for long healthy lives. While at EKU, Trevor served as a fitness instructor and a health and wellness instructor.

Rama Sabano – '07 Coordinator for Student Organizations & Leadership Development	rsabano@auk.edu.kw (Office: A-004)
B.B.A. in Marketing, American University of Kuwait. Rama has over 6 years of experience as a student worker and full-time employee at AUK. She is also an Alumni and has earned many awards at AUK including; President’s Award, Outstanding Leadership Award, AUK Spirit Award, and Deans List.

Abdulwahab Al Khaldi – '08 Student Life Specialist	aralkhaldi@auk.edu.kw (Office: A-004)
B.A. in Communications with a minor in Psychology, American University of Kuwait. In addition to being an Alumnus, Abdulwahab has previous experience in education as an admissions officer at the Australian College of Kuwait.

Mohamed El-Kuishawy – '07 Evening Activities Coordinator	melkuishawy@auk.edu.kw (Office: A-004)
B.S in Computer Sciences and a B.S in Information Systems, American University of Kuwait. Mohamed has a rich experience in graphic designing and great interest in advanced computer technologies.

Fatma Masoud Hayat – Senior Coordinator	fhayat@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-005)
B.S. in Marketing, University of Rhode Island. Fatema Hayat’s experience in the field includes working closely with students in areas such as Clubs & Organizations, SGA advising, working with sports and student programming in the Office of Student Life since 2005. Fatema worked closely with students establishing strong connections with AUK Alumni in addition to interacting with parents and other external groups.

Dana Hashem Taqi – '07 Coordinator	dhtaqi@auk.edu.kw (Office: G-006)
B.A. in English Language & Literature, American University of Kuwait. As a member of the first group to attend AUK in 2004 and an Alumni of Class of 2007 Dana has a strong understanding of the interests and needs of our alumni. She joined the team in Jan 2008 as the Alumni Affairs coordinator and now joins the Office of Parent Relations and Alumni Affairs to serve two vital groups of the AUK community.
