The Student Success Center Retention Specialist is responsible for encouraging academic success of at-risk students by providing individual academic counseling, identifying student needs and trends, and implementing programs designed to promote student retention. The specialist develops and maintains appropriate files and records and works with faculty for the benefit of the student. Students in academic jeopardy are required to participate in the programs defined by the Retention Specialist.
DISABILITY ACCOMMODATIONS
Students with learning or physical disabilities may receive approved accommodations designed to enhance chances of success. Accommodations are provided based upon the availability of resources, and submission of documentation that is not more than five years old. The SSC staff will work with the student, faculty, and other departments on campus to help provide the approved accommodations. Accommodations for students with disabilities include but are not limited to note taking assistance, tutoring, and extra time for exams. It is recommended that any student with a disability disclose this information to the Student Success Center staff upon admission to the university so that every effort can be made to meet the students needs.
For questions or more information on the nature of the above services please contact the Student Success Center directly
