Student employment is an excellent way for students to gain employment skills as they prepare to enter the workforce. It is designed to enhance students’ educational experience while providing a necessary service to the university community. Students will acquire skills that can enhance their employability and benefit them in any career. Student employment also provides an opportunity to offset a portion of a student’s educational expenses.

The American University of Kuwait maintains a limited variety of student work and volunteer positions. Students can seek employment through different departments available on campus (subject to change).

An Applicant has to be a student at the American University of Kuwait that is currently enrolled with strong interpersonal skills. Further information on the student employment process and how to apply can be accessed through the AUK self service once students have been admitted to AUK and registered for classes.
In addition to on-campus opportunities, students are encouraged to seek opportunities for work experience through internships and/ part time jobs with businesses, governmental, or non-governmental organizations in order to gain professional experience in an occupational area they are considering for after graduation. This experience has a level of responsibility that allows students to develop new skills and offers training that facilitates learning. Student Affairs counselors can assist in identifying and applying for possible positions.
