International Programs

Dartmouth College, founded in 1769, is a member of the Ivy League, a group of eight of the most distinguished universities in the United States. Dartmouth is located in Hanover, New Hampshire, a town of 11,000 residents. It is situated on the Connecticut River, which is the border between New Hampshire and Vermont. The school offers a liberal arts undergraduate education and professional schools of medicine, business administration, and engineering. Dartmouth also offers 17 Ph.D. programs in the arts and sciences. Internationally renowned for its focus on undergraduate liberal arts education, Dartmouth’s educational experience is marked by close interaction between faculty and students.

The George Washington University was created in 1821 through an Act of Congress, fulfilling George Washington's vision of an institution in the nation's capital dedicated to educating and preparing future leaders. Today, GW is the largest institution of higher education in the District of Columbia with more than 26,000 students from all 50 states, the District, and 130 countries. GW offers a rich range of disciplines from forensic science and creative writing, to international affairs and computer engineering, as well as medicine, public health, law, and public policy.

Founded in 1919, AUC is a leading regional English-language university and a hub for intellectual, social, and cultural life. With a community of students and faculty members representing more than 60 countries, AUC is a crossroad for the world's cultures and a vibrant forum for reasoned argument, spirited debate and understanding across cultures. AUC offers 36 undergraduate, 44 master's and two PhD programs rooted in a liberal arts education that encourages students to think critically and find creative solutions for conflicts and challenges facing both the region and the world.

Established in 1872 as the École Libre des Sciences Politiques, Sciences Po is generally considered one of the world's most reputable and prestigious schools of social sciences. Sciences Po covers political science as well as economics, history, sociology, law, finance, business, communication, social and urban policy, management, and journalism.
 
Students earn 12 credit hours and have the option of studying at one of the school's seven urban campuses, each of which specialize in different areas of the world. These are located in Paris, Reims, Le Havre, Dijon, Nancy, Poitiers, or Menton.

The International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) is an exciting and unique way to study abroad at over 150 Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) approved universities in 18 countries across the globe—including over 90 institutions in North America and 30 in Europe!
 
When you study abroad with ISEP, you’ll be directly enrolled into classes at member institutions, fully immersed in the culture and living and learning alongside locals. This will broaden your academic understanding, as you’ll engage with perspectives different than those in your home country. Because ISEP utilizes existing academic resources at member universities, you’ll get access to affordable, high-quality programs that in return help develop culturally sensitive skill sets needed for today’s global workforce. AUK students must apply through AUK first and then ISEP.
 
* The program occurs in fall & spring. The student pays AUK tuition, an ISEP fee, and mandatory housing fee payable to AUK. ISEP provides shared housing options for all exchange students.

You can also prepare your own study plan with a non-partner university, as long as you meet AUK’s eligibility requirements, courses approved by the Kuwaiti government (MOHE), and approved by your AUK faculty advisor and your college dean.
 
Doing this requires a lot more work and may have additional costs (as you pay the other institution's tuition and fees in place of your AUK fees). This may be a good option if you are interested in a particular location, institution, or program.
