Ramy Khair
Associate Professor of Graphic Design
Assistant professor Ramy Khair graduated from Notre Dame University in Lebanon with a BA in graphic design, then he went to TISCH School of the Arts, New York University where he received a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Interactive Multimedia. He is a graphic and multimedia designer, photographer, educator and a drone pilot, with a passion for new technology and multimedia.
He started his teaching career in 2004 in two universities in Lebanon, Notre Dame University and the University of Balamand. He taught graduate and undergraduate level courses in graphic design and multimedia. In 2007, he became a full-time lecturer in University of Balamand (ALBA), where he established a new program called Computer Graphics and Interactive Media (CGIM), and later he co-established the Engineering Multimedia for Education program in the Department of Education, which was in collaboration with University of Poitier. In 2009, Professor Khair moved to the American University of Kuwait and started teaching here as a full-time assistant professor.
Throughout his teaching years, he served as a member of various committees, juries, and associations, and was selected three times as a team leader in the Adobe Behance Portfolio Reviews as a panel discussant. Over 40 pieces of his artwork were accepted and are being sold by Fotolia and Adobe Stock, two of the largest providers of creative content in the world. His work was also featured numerous times by local and regional magazines, newspapers in Kuwait, and by some of the biggest social media accounts.
