Candace Dominique

Assistant Professor of Mass Communication and Media

Candace Dominique is an assistant professor and chair of the Department of Communication and Media at the American University of Kuwait. Since joining AUK in 2013, she has taught numerous classes in the fundamentals of communication and journalism, news writing and editing, media effects, and journalistic storytelling. She also served as the faculty advisor of the University’s student newspaper for three consecutive years. 
 
Before joining AUK, Dr. Dominique served as chair and assistant professor of mass communications at Wiley College in Texas, and previously served on the faculty of Trinity University and Howard University in Washington, DC. She taught courses in public speaking, research methods, public relations, media law, and graphic design.
 
Dr. Dominique earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from Wiley College, and both an M.A. (Human Communication Studies) and a Ph.D. (Mass Communication and Media Studies) from Howard University in Washington, DC. She teaches courses in social media, news writing and editing, and media effects.
