Hanan Muzaffar
Associate Professor of English Literature
Dr. Hanan earned her Ph.D. in English literature, with focus on literary theory & criticism, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2000, after 5 years of teaching experience in middle schools and high schools.
She started working at Kuwait University as an assistant professor of English in 2000, teaching both undergraduate and graduate levels, in topics ranging from literary theory to surveys of literature and arts. Dr. Hanan also assumed other roles related to course planning as chair of the timetable committee in the English Department, and head of the Student Guidance Office in the Faculty of Arts.
Dr. Hanan joined the American University of Kuwait (AUK) as an assistant professor of English in 2014, then as dean of student affairs in 2015, and vice president for student affairs in 2019.
Dr. Hanan has publication and research in the areas of minority writers and critical theory, in addition to translations from English to Arabic.
