Sherrie Smith, M.A. English for Specific Purposes, is a senior Instructor at the Intensive English Program at AUK, and has been an English language educator for 14 years. She began her teaching journey in the Sichuan Province, China, but has since taught in the United States, Korea, and Oman. Sherrie joined AUK in August 2016 as a full-time Instructor, was appointed as assistant director from 2018-2020, and was promoted to senior instructor in 2021. Her specialty is writing for English language learners, primarily beginners to low-intermediate students. Her interests include using internet-mediated learning technologies to promote student autonomy and developing dynamic ways to engage students in the writing process.
