Dr. Wafaa Sbeiti  is an associate professor of finance at American University of Kuwait since 2009. She obtained her Ph.D. in finance from Durham University in the United Kingdom and her thesis’s topic was “Stock Markets Dynamics, Financial Sector Development and Corporate Capital Structure in the GCC Countries”. She is the author of the book “What They Don’t Teach You In Schools About Money”, and is a Certified Financial Instructor (CFI) from “Financial Educators Council in the US”. She taught several courses at AUK including, Fundamentals of Financial Management, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Markets and Institutions, International Business Management, Security Investment Analysis, Business Ethics, Corporate Finance, Fundamentals of Management. 
 
Dr. Wafaa published more than 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her research areas include determinants of capital structure, corporate debt and equity, the effect of financial sector development on the economic growth, and stock market dynamics. She also writes articles published in Kuwaiti newspapers.
