Faculty Positions - College of Business & Economics

Application Instructions:

Application packages are to be submitted electronically to CBEfaculty@auk.edu.kw (attachments must not exceed 10 MB per email). The package should contain:

1) Cover letter detailing the candidate’s specific interest in AUK, and how the candidate’s past experiences provide a suitable basis for performance in the position for which s/he is applying.
2) A current CV
3) Statements on teaching goals and philosophy, research and service.
4) Copies of teaching evaluations if available and letters of reference.
5) The names and addresses, both electronic and postal, of three referees.
6) Two recent publications or two writing samples.

Finance (Position Code No. 20-1401-AUKWEB 09): Rank assistant professor or higher. 

The College of Business and Economics is seeking to fill a position in finance at the rank of an assistant professor or higher.  A Ph.D. in Finance from a reputable university with an accredited business program is required. A good teaching record and evidence of research accomplishments including publications in peer-reviewed journals are desirable. Applicants should ideally have relevant experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses within the context of a liberal arts education. The position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will assist the College in achieving its mission and vision by engaging students in holistic development. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate simulation usage and a history of high quality teaching outcomes with regard to course delivery, student learning, grading discipline, and student perception and engagement.  Currently, the successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate courses in investment and security analysis, portfolio management, international finance, financial management, and corporate finance. Faculty responsibilities include teaching, research, student advising and service to the Department, College, University and honoring office hours. Individuals who consider themselves as role models in scholarship together with an ability to advance teaching and learning through technology are encouraged to apply.

Management (Position Code No. 20-1701-AUKWEB 09): Rank assistant professor or higher. 

The College of Business and Economics is seeking to fill a position in management at the rank of an assistant professor or higher. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Management from a reputable university with an accredited business program are required to apply. A good teaching record and evidence of research accomplishments including publications in peer-reviewed journals are desirable. Applicants should ideally have relevant experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses within the context of a liberal arts education. The positions require energetic and enthusiastic individuals who will assist the College in achieving its mission and vision by engaging students in holistic development. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate simulation usage and a history of high quality teaching outcomes with regard to course delivery, student learning, grading discipline, and student perception and engagement. The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate courses that include: business capstone, change management, principles of management, organizational behavior, and production and operations management. Faculty responsibilities include: teaching, research, student advising, service to the Department, College, University, and honoring office hours. Human Resource Management (Position Code No. 20-1702-AUKWEB 09): Rank assistant professor or higher. 

The College of Business and Economics is seeking to fill a position in human resource management.  PhD holders from a reputable university with an accredited business program are required to apply. A good teaching record and evidence of research accomplishments including publications in peer-reviewed journals are desirable. Applicants should ideally have relevant experience in teaching undergraduate level courses within the context of a liberal arts education. The position requires energetic and enthusiastic individuals who will assist the College in achieving its mission and vision by engaging students in holistic development. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate simulation usage and a history of high quality teaching outcomes with regard to course delivery, student learning, grading discipline, and student perception and engagement.
