Holistic Student Experience

The Holistic Student Experience (HSE) is a co-curricular program designed to connect AUK students with the tools and services available for them at AUK, and to promote their personal growth and leadership skills. In collaboration with the FYE program and the AUK library, the Division of Student Affairs provides first-year students with an array of workshops and activities that are integrated in the classroom through class visits, and provided outside class through ‘This Week at AUK’ email, Instagram, and Moodle announcements.

UNIV 100 students receive class visits from the Library, the Office of Student Life, the Academic Advising Center, and the Writing & Tutoring Center, and are expected to also choose at least four from a variety of Passport Events advertised in “This Week at AUK.” Passport Events include talks on a range of topics, such as leadership, fitness and health, choosing a major, in addition to recreational and cultural events such as movie nights, talent shows, book discussions, and more.

UNIV 110 students are expected to look for the HSE Wellness workshop and the Professional Communication workshop, in addition to attending a writing or tutoring session, and submitting a report on a Passport Event.

HSE workshops and Passport Events are advertised in ‘This Week at AUK’.
