Agnieszka Fajga

Assistant Professor of Music

Agnieszka Fajga has a Master of Music in Music Education from the Music Academy in Łódź, Poland (2004). She undertook postgraduate studies in choir conducting at the Nowowiejski Music Academy, Bydgoszcz, Poland (2014). In 2007, her master’s thesis was awarded 1st place in the 15th National Competition of Master’s Theses for Music Academy Graduates. In 2002, she received a European Socrates Scholarship to study at Orebro University, Sweden. In 2003, she took part in the Teachers’ Education research project at the University Institute in Rennes, France.
  
Agnieszka Fajga has been an assistant professor of music at AUK since 2014. She served as acting chair of the Music and Drama Department for the AY 2018-2019. Previously, she worked in the College of Basic Education (Public Authority of Applied Education and Training) in Kuwait as an assistant professor, and in Kwinta Music School in Łódź, Poland. 
 
Prof. Fajga is a highly active performer and has given many concerts in Poland and Kuwait. She performs as a cellist in orchestra and chamber ensembles, and as a vocalist, chorister, and conductor. In 2021, she took 1st place in the Chopin Prize Award of the 6th Gulf International Chopin Competition in Kuwait, vocal category. In September 2021, she placed 3rd in the MAP International Music Competition 2021, California, USA in the vocal soprano category.
