Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching and Learning

Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications are accredited by the University College London (UCL) Institute of Education. The certificates are accredited with 60 credits at Level 4 of the Quality Assurance Agency Framework for Higher Education Qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (FHEQ). The diplomas are accredited with 60 credits at Level 5. UCL Institute of Education was ranked number one for education worldwide in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 QS World University Rankings. 
 
Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications support Cambridge teachers to become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged. Through its training, events, and teaching and learning resources, the teachers develop as successful learners and improve their professional practice. Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (Cambridge PDQs) transform professional learning for practicing teachers and leaders in their schools/educational system. Participants will: 
  • Engage critically with relevant educational thinking and international best practices 
  • Apply new ideas and approaches in their own practice 
  • Reflect on and share experiences and outcomes to plan further development 
  • Improve the quality of their students’ learning 
  • Meet the needs and priorities of the individual and the school 
  • Support school-based professional development 
  • Strengthen professional learning communities 

This program is suitable for practicing teachers, teaching assistants, and educators.
 
Candidates must have an intermediate level of English language fluency, determined by the results of the AUK Accuplacer Language Placement Test, which will be taken prior to registration in the program.
 
Candidates also need to: 
  • Be a full or part-time teacher, teaching in an educational institution such as a school, college, university or adult training center.
  • Teach in their current school over a full academic year, for a minimum of 24 weeks and a minimum of six hours per week.
  • Have the regular support of a mentor who understands the essential principles that underpin this qualification, and can provide helpful advice and observations.
  • Teach a group with a minimum of six learners.
  • Be responsible for planning and facilitating the learning activities of their learners
