Aaron R. Rababaah, PhD

Professor of Computer Science

Prof. Aaron Rasheed Rababaah is a professor of computing, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) at the American University of Kuwait (AUK) (Jan 2016 – Present). He held the following academic positions in the USA: associate professor and assistant professor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, post-doc researcher and instructor at Tennessee State University and adjunct instructor at Indiana University of South Bend. He finished his B.Sc. in industrial engineering from University of Jordan, Jordan, his M.Sc. in applied computer science from University of Indiana, USA and his Ph.D. in computer information and system engineering from Tennessee State University, USA. He has 5 years of experience in industrial engineering and 15 years in teaching at the college level. He has research interest in machine intelligence, machine vision, software engineering and quality assurance in computing education. He has published 4 books, 45 refereed journal papers, and 55 peer-reviewed conference papers. He has given more than 55 professional presentations in several international conferences, 10 of which as an invited speaker. He was awarded several awards including 3 Distinguished Research Awards from two USA journals, USA conference best paper, Exceptional Leadership for ISO9000 accreditation, M.Sc. Scholarship/Academic Excellence Award, Ph.D. Scholarship, Thesis Showcase Award and Who’s-Who recognition for number of times. He has supervised, advised and referred senior projects, master theses, doctoral dissertations and number of conferences and journals. Dr. Rababaah has significant experience in ABET accreditation as a certified PEV and he has been actively engaged in establishing, managing and evaluating assessment and accreditation processes since 2010. He has been funded several times to conduct research in his areas of expertise by USA Department of Defense, US Army, NASA, USA Science foundation and Maryland Department of Education.
