Muhammad Ikram

Assistant Professor

Dr. Muhammad Ikram is an assistant professor at the American University of Kuwait (AUK) since Jan. 2024. Dr. Ikram received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from University of the Punjab, Pakistan, the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, and The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia in 2014, 2017, and 2021 respectively. He was with UQ and the Electromagnetic Innovations (ƐMAGin) Group as a postdoctoral research fellow from Oct. 2020 to Feb. 2023. He also worked at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Saudi Arabia as a postdoctoral fellow from Feb. 2023 to Aug. 2023. Before joining AUK, he had a short stay at Curtin Institute of Radio Astronomy (CIRA) and International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) at Curtin University, Australia as a research fellow.
   
Dr. Ikram’s current research interests include integrated antennas, phased arrays, flat panel terminals for satellite communication, and intelligent reflecting surfaces for 5G/6G communications. He has authored/co-authored more than 50 refereed journal/conference papers and patents. He is serving as an associate editor for Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, Wiley since 2021. He has been also serving as a reviewer for IEEE Communication Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Transactions on Antennas and propagation, IEEE Antennas and Propagation Letters, Springer Nature Scientific Reports, IEEE Journal on Electromagnetics, RF, and Microwaves in Medicine and Biology, IEEE Sensor Journal and IEEE access.
