Amro A Abouzeid Nour

Associate Professor-Electrical Engineering

Biography

Dr. Amro Nour is an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS). He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering (minoring in biomedical engineering) from the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2008. This was followed by a master’s degree in electrical and biomedical engineering from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada, in 2011. He attained his Doctorate of Philosophy with the highest honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Limoges, Leonardo da Vinci Consolidated University, European University Association, Limoges, France, in 2016.
 
Dr. Amro worked in the industry with ABB and Caterpillar before teaching academically in Kuwait, Canada, and France. He is the recipient of various academic scholarships and awards, such as the Dartmouth (Ivy League) Fellowship at Thayer School of Engineering, New Hampshire, USA. During his bachelor’s degree, he worked as a research assistant at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto. During his Ph.D. in XLIM Laboratory, he received funds for multiple governmental projects as part of the European Union’s Galileo GNSS systems development projects.
 
In addition, Dr. Amro is currently a reviewer for several international conferences and journals, including IEEE and IET transactions. His main research focuses on antennas, electromagnetic systems, biomedical systems, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), wireless communication, high-frequency electronics, and optoelectronics.
