Biography

Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Esmaeili received the B.Sc. (with honors) and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University (KU) in 2001 and 2005, respectively, and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering form Concordia University, Montreal, Canada in 2011. Before joining the American University of Kuwait (AUK) as an assistant professor in 2013, Dr. Seyed served as a post-doctoral research associate at Concordia University. In recognition of his contributions, he was promoted to the rank of associate professor in 2022. Dr. Seyed actively contributed to various capacities within the robotics and engineering community. He chaired the Innovative Robot Competition at the Second National Robotic Challenge in Kuwait and served as a member of the judging committee for esteemed events such as the First GCC Robotic Challenge, the IET Present Around the World Competition, and the Smart Kuwait Competition. 

Under his guidance, capstone projects attained recognition and awards at prestigious venues like the Undergraduate Research Conference on Applied Computing (URC), Smart Kuwait Competition, and the Maker Faire Kuwait. Demonstrating his expertise, Dr. Seyed holds two patents in the United States and Europe and is a co-inventor of another US patent. Currently, he serves as a reviewer for several esteemed international conferences and journals, including IEEE transactions. His primary research interests encompass high-speed, low-power digital circuit design, clock distribution networks, resonant clocking techniques, as well as engineering education and robotics.
