A Computer Engineering Graduate Wins Best Poster Award at an International ACS/IEEE Conference
AUK Computer Engineering graduate Mennatallah Ibrahim has won the Best Poster Award at the 14th ACS/IEEE International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA) held in Hammamet, Tunisia between October 30th and November 3rd, 2017.
Mennatallah presented a poster titled, "RoadEye - An Intelligent Transportation System" that explained her capstone work that was completed with Mark Riad, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed El-Abd.
RoadEye is a transportation system that utilizes Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication to ensure safety on the roads. V2V was realized by the implementation of two vehicles communicating together to maintain a safe distance between them while platooning. V2I was realized by the implementation of a weather station that sends weather conditions data to approaching vehicles. All information was exchanged over a wireless communication network.
Mennatallah competed with 20 other poster presentations authored by researchers from Brazil, Portugal, Tunisia, KSA, Canada, France, and UAE.
The ACS/IEEE International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA) is a premier conference covering all contemporary areas in computer systems and applications and an international forum for leading researchers and practitioners in these important and rapidly changing disciplines. AICCSA 2017 was co-organized by University of Arizona and Université Centrale.
