AUK CEAS Holds Annual Capstone Exhibition

AUK College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) held its second capstone exhibition that included over a hundred students presenting their graduation projects, incorporating novel prototypes that combined their hardware and software skills. The event was open to students, alumni, parents, and industry representatives.

A total of 24 groups showcased their projects through informative posters, research papers, leaflets, and video displays. Supervised by faculty members of the College, students presented a wide range of prototypes such as Solar Cars, Hybrid Bicycles, IoT-Based PV Monitoring Systems, Smart Glasses, Portable Radiation Indicators, Surveillance Robots, and Handicapped Alerting Systems.

The event concluded with an award ceremony at the campus theater where AUK president, Dr. Rawda Awwad, congratulated the students, “I applaud you for your remarkable achievement in completing your capstone event. You have taken your capstone experience to an extraordinary level and have shown a relentless thirst for innovation and exploration. As mentors, we have been part of your growth. However, today, I humbly acknowledge that the tables have turned. You are becoming our teachers, and our guides to the future. When that happens, we can say that we’ve done our job well. You will pave the way for future generations with what you know to ensure progress and constructive change.”

The award ceremony also featured a keynote speech delivered by Mr. Hadi Nazari Mehrabi, Group CEO at NorthTelecom in which he motivated students to work hard, “Regardless of how talented you may be, your hard work will determine the results you get in your career and life. So, whether you choose to get a job or start your own business, make sure that you give it your all.”

Dr. Mohamed El-Abd, CEAS associate and interim dean, commented on the success of the event, “The exhibition marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of our graduating students. It represents the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and commitment. The participation of our graduating students in this exhibition is a testament to their growth, resilience, and the depth of knowledge they have acquired over the past 4 years. All works presented in the exhibition reflect our students’ passion for learning, ability to solve complex problems, and readiness to contribute meaningfully to society.”
