AUK Interim Dean Dr. Mohammed El-Abd Placed Among Top 2% of Global Researchers by Stanford University
Interim dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) at the American University of Kuwait (AUK), Dr. Mohammed El-Abd, has been included in the top 2% of global researchers for the fourth time, under the domain of artificial intelligence, in a recent list released by Stanford University and Elsevier BV.
The ranking is provided in a public database of top-cited scientists that provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator (c-score). The c-score focuses on impact (citations) rather than productivity (number of publications), and it also incorporates information on co-authorship and author positions (single, first, last author).
Dr. El-Abd has over 100 publications including journal articles, conference publications, abstracts, and book chapters. His research interests span the areas of meta-heuristics, evolutionary computation, swarm intelligence, cooperative algorithms, continuous optimization, large-scale optimization, real-world applications, Internet-of-Things (IoT), smart cities, and engineering education.
This ranking is a testament to AUK’s high standard of education. AUK professors are appointed based on their exceptional expertise and distinguished standing within their respective fields. Their unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and pursuit of excellence has a profound impact on AUK students, inspiring them into accomplished individuals who are well-prepared for the challenges of their academic and professional journeys.
