AUK Students on the Global Stage: Saqer Al-Ghanem's Diplomatic Endeavors

AUK student, Saqer Al-Ghanem, represented the International Relations Department at the 64th Annual Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference on Civil-Military relations in a New World Order.

Saqer Al-Ghanem delivered the paper, ‘Socially Destructive Media: A Study on The Effects of Internet Use on Public Trust in Government,’ and was awarded the ‘honored-delegate’ prize for his contributions to the success of his team during the International Simulation Crisis exercise held at the conference.

He also had the opportunity to discuss with other students from across the world, both military and civilians, the changing nature of international relations, the impact of social media on military institutions, and the role of AI in defense and security.

The conference brought together students from across the world to engage with leading academic scholars in the fields of defense, security, and intelligence on the changing nature of military institutions, civil-military relations and societal change, and the conduct of war brought up by the current technological revolution raised by Artificial Intelligence.

As an institution committed to academic excellence and global engagement, AUK provides students with the opportunity to not only excel academically but also to actively participate in global conversations and contribute meaningfully to international discourse.
