AUKMUN Board Members Attend 8th Annual MUN Conference at AUD
AUK Model United Nations (MUN) board members, Mariam Abusharkh, president; Heba AlHooti, vice president; Sabika AlBahar, treasurer; and Suad AlBahar, public relations officer, attended the 8th Annual MUN Conference at the American University in Dubai (AUD).
As delegates, the AUKMUN board members represented their assigned countries at the Security Council Commission and participated in the conference's discussions on the intervention of both USA and NATO in the Russia-Ukraine war. The board members researched their respective countries' decisions concerning the topic, presenting two resolutions in which one of them passed.
President Mariam Abusharkh conveyed her gratitude towards AUK for their support, “I would like to thank AUK for supporting their students and giving us, AUKMUN, the chance to travel all the way to UAE to represent our club and our university abroad. It was a beautiful experience that will forever accompany our club members.”
The three-day conference was an opportunity for the AUKMUN board members to represent AUK and participate in a global platform to discuss crucial international issues. Such experiences contribute to the personal and professional development of AUK’s students which is proven by numerous alumni who have pursued careers in diplomacy and international affairs.
