Empowering Diplomacy: AUKMUN Students Excel in Georgetown Qatar MUN Conference
Students from AUK's Model United Nations (AUKMUN) recently participated in the Georgetown Qatar MUN Conference. The conference featured discussions on critical global issues, fostering debates aimed at formulating effective solutions.
Representing AUKMUN were Mariam Abusharkh, Ahmad Kanaan, Aya Elhardello, Suad Alawadhi, Judy Alnaimy, and Zaina Zakarneh. Each student delegate was assigned a specific country and topic for a three-day debate session. The culmination of their efforts involved preparing comprehensive resolutions in UN format, presented at the conclusion of the conference.
Mariam Abusharkh, AUKMUN president, conveyed her appreciation for the opportunity, “I would like to thank AUK for always pushing us to get such enriching experiences as well as giving us the chance to represent our university on an international level. The students all got such a valuable experience and lessons from going on this trip.”
As AUKMUN continues to foster a culture of engagement in global affairs, the success at the Georgetown Qatar MUN Conference becomes not just an achievement for these students but a testament to the University's commitment to nurturing future diplomats.
