Shihanah AlMutairi

Assistant Professor of Marketing

Dr. Shihanah AlMutairi earned her B.A. with honors in marketing from Kuwait University. She continued her studies at KU and graduated with an MBA majoring in marketing. She later earned her PhD in marketing from Brunel University of London, specializing in national culture and diffusion of innovations. During the course of her research, she was able to refute Hofstede’s clustered national culture profile of the MENA region and estimate their diffusion patterns to represent the region in cross-cultural diffusion literature. Her main research interests lie in international marketing, consumer behavior, and cross-cultural diffusion research. She has taught the following courses during her teaching career: Principles of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Business Foundations, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Consumer Behavior, Advertising, as well as developed the Innovation in Business: Sustainability and Social Change course. She is currently the assistant dean of the College of Business and Economics as well as the PRME coordinator at the American University of Kuwait.
