Workshops
In the fall of 2020, CTE initiated its Faculty Mini-series Workshops in which faculty members present to their peers pedagogical topics of interest. The series is driven by faculty volunteers, and attendance is voluntary. Workshops are conducted online on topics ranging from instructional software and its application in instructional delivery and assessment to broader neuro/brain-based learning.
CTE capitalizes also on teaching experts from the region. In an inaugural event in Spring 2020, CTE hosted Dr. Maha Bali, Associate Professor of Practice at the Center for Learning and Teaching at the American University in Cairo and arranged the first faculty workshop, “Classroom Assessment Techniques: Quick Strategies for Checking the Cognitive and Emotional Pulse of Your Class.”
In collaboration with the University Research Board, CTE also hosted its second external speaker workshop, “Getting Your Research Noticed,” with Professor Jon Anderson, Professor Emeritus, Anthropology, Catholic University of America in March 2021.
